We work with reputable financiers, industry partners and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to design and develop small scale renewable energy projects, allowing delivery of cost-effective solutions and optimal plant performance. kW Energy follows a 6-step approach to its solar and battery backup installations.
kW Energy will assess the feasibility and sizing of a solar installation or battery backup solution on your property. This generally means inspecting your roof (solar only), checking your electrical installation (distribution boards, circuits, wiring) and understanding your load profile (detailed consumption patterns) through a residential load questionnaire or engagement with you. This step is generally free of charge.
With the assessment now completed, kW Energy will send you up to 3 designs to choose from. Once you have indicated your preferred choice, kW Energy will work on the costing and a proposal will be sent to you. The proposal is a detailed document that will include information such as your electricity, environmental and financial projections (reduction of CO2 emissions, estimated solar production, reduction of utility costs, financial savings, payback period, etc). After sign-off, the procurement phase will start.
kW Energy only procures proven and reliable brands from approved distributors, with the right level of support locally. This increases the dependability of the installation and provides peace of mind to the customer. kW Energy does not use any unproven brands and always looks at the best available specifications for the system (wire diameter, amperage, voltage, etc).
Once the project starts on site, after briefing the customer on final project details (location of inverter, battery, trunking, distribution board connections, etc), the kW Energy electricians and technicians will work to ensure the best quality is provided to the customer. Should deviations occur, the customer will always be consulted for approval.
Installation of solar panels is a skill that requires attention to detail. kW Energy uses quality mounting systems, ensures accurate balancing of the strings and works towards perfect alignment and levelling of the panels. Because kW Energy uses top-tier brands, the customer will receive individual panel performance data, showing their actual specifications after testing by the manufacturer. Moreover, kW Energy will install bird proofing solutions where necessary to prevent birds from nesting or tampering with wiring under the panels.
At completion of the project, kW Energy will do the final settings on the inverter and will provide an Electrical Certificate of Compliance. The customer will then be able to enjoy the benefits of the solar, battery backup or hybrid installation, generating his/her own power, saving on electricity costs and navigating loadshedding without disruptions. kW Energy uses brands that allow the customer to monitor the installation (production, consumption, battery charge & discharge) from different devices, such as the inverter's display, a mobile phone or a PC.
Please note that kW Energy will not engage in work with unproven, unsafe or unreliable products and processes.
