Compliance
Our compliance with regulations in the commercial cleaning industry and safety concerns
Australian regulators enforce a number of regulations related to the commercial cleaning industry. Not complying with some of these regulations can result in penalties for cleaning companies and even for their clients. Therefore, Brilliant Office Cleaning has streamlined our processes to ensure compliance with these regulations. This significantly reduces the risk of non-compliance for our company as well as our clients.
Our Compliance with Labour Hire regulations
The Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 requires that all labour hire providers must hold a labour hire licence in order to provide labour for their clients. Companies that engage an unlicenced cleaning service provider are liable for a fine that exceeds more than $600,000.00. Brilliant Office Cleaning is in full compliance with these labour hire regulations (labour hire licence VICLHL05966).
Therefore, clients that engage Brilliant Office Cleaning will not be exposed to any risk of fines. Further, this certificate demonstrates our compliance with labour laws, and our commitment to the welfare of our staff.

ISO Certification is not a mandatory requirement for commercial cleaning companies. However, obtaining these certificates confirms compliance with a number of Australian laws and regulations. Brilliant Office Cleaning’s quality, occupational health and safety and environment management systems are certified to ISO9001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015 standards. respectively.

Our quality control systems are essential to ensure we achieve the quality objectives of our clients. The ISO Quality Management certification confirms our capability to consistently deliver quality commercial cleaning services that meet the expectations of our clients. ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management)
Being in the commercial cleaning services industry, health and safety is of paramount importance to us. As such, our Occupational Health and Safety systems are certified to ISO 45001:2018 standards. This demonstrates our commitment to safe working conditions that reduce workplace hazards and enhance health and wellbeing at work.
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of workers should be a top priority for all cleaning companies. Cleaning personnel face challenges such as exposure to chemicals, biological elements, physical strain, and the risk of accidents, slips and falls. ISO 45001:2018 compliance promotes the identification, evaluation and management of health and safety risks, and ultimately reduces the likelihood of injuries and illnesses. By safeguarding employees, this initiative also fosters a more productive workforce.
Further, ISO 45001:2018 requires an approach to recognise hazards and assess risks. With a focus on risk management, commercial cleaning firms can implement measures to mitigate potential dangers. This methodical approach to risk mitigation aids in prioritising safety protocols and health initiatives. Our clients also benefit from approach.
Important Occupational Health and Safety Measures
As part of occupational health and safety, we have implemented number of procedures. The objective of these procedures is to assure a safe environment for our own staff and clients.
Using Sign Boards
When we clean while our clients’ staff are working, it is important to ensure their safety. This especially applies to moping, which wets the floor, and it may take time for the floor to dry. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to indicate to staff and visitors that the floor is wet. This mitigates the risk of people slipping on the floor. Therefore, we always place “Wet floor” signs when floors are mopped.
Further, “Cleaning in progress” signs also help to indicate that work is in progress. This ensures that everyone is aware of the work, and mitigates the risk of workplace injuries.
First-Aid Kit On Site
It is important to ensure that our employees and our clients’ personnel are protected from accidents. As a responsible cleaning company, we take steps to mitigate the risk of injuries. However, there is still a residual risk that cannot be eliminated. Therefore, we always keep a first-aid kit on site in case there is a workplace injury.
Keeping MSDS On Site
Brilliant Office Cleaning does not use dangerous chemicals or substances. We use only eco-friendly cleaning products. Material safety data sheets (MSDS) are always kept on site for all the chemicals we use. This enables our staff and clients to take the necessary action in the event of an accident involving cleaning chemicals.
Safety Training for Our Commercial Cleaners
Safety protocols play an important role in preventing accidents and promoting the welfare of both our cleaning staff and our clients’ personnel and visitors. Whether its handling chemicals, operating cleaning machinery, or performing cleaning tasks, there are risks that must be effectively managed. As a result, Brilliant Office Cleaning enforces strict training safety requirements for our cleaners. They are required to complete safety training before commencing work at our client’s premises.
Safe Equipment Handling
We have implemented effective equipment handling procedures, and we conduct regular inspections as part of our ISO Audits. As a result, we quickly identify equipment that should be replaced. These include:
- Obsolete equipment
- Faulty equipment
- Availability of more advanced equipment.
After identifying obsolete or faulty equipment, we take immediate action. This prevents accidents such as fire from equipment with electrical problems.
ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management)
Brilliant Office Cleaning always considers the environmental effect of our commercial cleaning activity. Our systems are designed with a strong emphasis on minimising the negative impacts on the environment.
